Tokyo Institute

A very well-to-do school in Japan, something of a pre-college for the high school students that are too brilliant to be in high school but not quite at the college level yet, or who are awaiting responses from colleges, study and take classes. It turns out some of the most prestigious minds in Japan and the world.

Nieland kicked a can past a small trash can before picking it up and tipping it into the can.
"You are so clean."
Nieland didn't respond to the Girl. That girl who followed him wherever he went for no real reason. No one else could see her but him. He didn't know why or how even. He just started seeing her when he had reached the age of 14, which means for three years she has been by his side.
"What? Are you going to ignore me again?"
"Yes." Nieland answered in annoyance.
He saw the entrance to his new college.
"No talking." He ordered her though he knew that was a rather futile set of words since she never listened to him.
Nieland walked around the college looking for his dorm. He pulled out a sheet of paper with his whole schedule in Japanese and his dorm room and building.
"When did you even take Japanese? Your first language was Russian."
"Eight grade, now shut up." Nieland whispered to her, or was it to himself? He had been taken as some crazy who talked to himself enough times that he had begun to believe it himself.

Nieland now sat in his dorm room staring at his AP European Literature book. He rolled around on his bed with it, his scarf tangling itself around his arms, and his jacket half unbuttoned.
"Whatcha doing now?" the girl asked toying with a slinky on his desk.
"My first assignment is to write a fifteen page gothic short story for literature class. I just am looking over what the book defines as gothic." He suddenly sat up and looked at Girl.
"What?" She asked putting down the slinky.
"Can I see that book you always carry?"
"You mean this worthless thing?" She pulled out the book that read Mort Pas (death note) on the front in french. "It won't even open, why do you want it?" She chucked it over to him never the less.
"Mort pas... death note. That is a neat idea for a story line don't ya think? A book of death.... like.... like when I write something it tends to happen, right? What if you could write down someone's name and they died? That would be pretty gothic... not exactly though I suppose. More horror than gothic." He chucked the book back at Girl and sat up when someone knocked at the door.
"Come on in."

((OOC:: Nieland will be surprised to have a guest because not many students stay in the dorms because some can't even drive legally yet because they are yet to be 16 so they must be driven or they just find it cheaper to stay with their parents. For this pre-college school that is in between college and high school they don't have dorm rooms with more than one person... the person at the door is probably knocking just to see why there are two people in the room because he hears a back and forth conversation going on. ^^;;)

Minaru turned left down a corner and headed down the street, glad to be at his side- so much so that she almost didn't remember where she was going. But like most women seemed to inherently do, she could find her way back home, and that was the Tokyo university dorm. She pointed to it. "Are!"

He hugged her, bringing her english back. "I love you... You have my number installed on your phone, I did that on the copter ride. Call if you need me alright?"

"You're not coming too?" Minaru asked. "Don't be afraid! Or, do you have to work?"

No one came into the room so Nieland walked out and looked around.
"Odd..."
"No one there..."
"Nah...just some couple." Nieland quietly watched the heart felt scene.

Minaru walked into the school and set up her dorm room. (She went offline but WE can RP ) August walked out of the school after helping and as he passed Nieland he dropped his Death Note. Nieland could clearly see the words scrawled "Death Note" and August quickly picked it up and dusted it off. "Almost lost you there..."

Nieland walked up to August and pretended he had not seen the death note but was quite curious seeing as he had a sort of book like that but it wouldn't open or anything. "New to the school?"

"Actually, Im done with school I was just dropping Minaru off. He motioned to his black military outfit and officer hat as he removed his Aviator sunglasses. "My name is August Hart." He extended his hand.

Nieland took his hand and shook it quickly noting August's firm grip.
"Yeah I just started here."
Nieland looked around warily wondering where girl was. He only hoped she wasn't going to pop out of no where and surprise him.

August smirked and Judas was not far behind him. He looked around. "So your how old?"

"I'm about 19." Nieland shifted his weight back and forth on his heels and looked around for Girl. When nothing happened he asked back. "And how many years have you occumulated?"

"I'm 22." He smiled slightly and his verticle scar moved with his pale lips. He wondered where Iscariot went off to and felt a tremor down his back and a small noise in his mind, like that of a book dropping, like when his Death Note had dropped. He looked at the Death Note in his hand and at the boy. "I will be staying in Tokyo for a small ammount of time, visit me if you like I have only one rule. Dont touch this book." He said with a serious look but still smiled. He handed the boy his number and hotel room number. "If you want to discuss the book however and you know anything...Im willing to talk."

Nieland looked at the number and thought about it seriously.
Think, some man just come out of no where. A stranger to put it simply. You talked to him out of curiosity and he gives you his room number... I sense a bit of danger but perhaps this will be better than my rag tag life working with murder cases and such.
"Could I just come with you right now, cause I don't have anything important to really do?" Nieland was sure he could knock off that paper for english in less than four hours or perhaps three and still get an A.
Girl come from the side wall next to them and smiled.
"Oo whose this?"
Nieland jumped slightly but kept a straight face. "Sorry I stumbled a little." He gave Girl a peripheral glare.

Iscariot flew behind August "Who is this guy?" He pointed at the man. August ignored him. The arrived in the hotel room. August sat down on a couch. He removed his cap revealing his Jet black hair that was slicked back. He kept his gloves and shoes on and placed the Death Note on the table. His crimson eyes stared at the book and then the boy. He brought out coffee. "Personally, I like mine black, and you?"

Nieland looked at the coffee and sighed. He was a native of Russia and even though he hadn't lived there long his tongue had a sense of home when he has sugar cubes soaked in vodka. "Any chance you have sugar cubes that were soaked in vodka? I know I'm not really legal to drink but I love the taste they add to things." He took the coffee cup lightly in his hands.

August stood up and walked over to his food supply. "my young friend, I have been all over the world. So your from Russia?" He looked through the space labeled "Russia" and took a small jar out. The jar had Vodka in it and sugar cubes soaking in the jar. August handed the jar to the boy after placing two cubes in his mouth.

"Well I'm from there yeah but I didn't live there long. Still have the taste buds I guess." Nieland caught the stray cubes and dropped them in his coffee letting them dissolve but popped one straight into his mouth letting it melt off in layers of bliss. "Some people think it's a harsh taste but I like it." Nieland rolled the cube around with his tongue and commented. "This isn't cheap vodka. You have some money, my friend."

"And you my friend have good taste." August brought out two bottles of vodka

"Good to hear?" Nieland wondered a little at the man's intent. Yes he had seen him with a woman earlier but bringing him to his hotel and then the straight vodka now seemed a little odd to him. He dismissed it lightly, took a sip of his coffee, and looked at the Note. "So what is that thing?"

He noticed Nieland's odd stair. "I know this all may seem odd but I don't get company other than Minaru. The vodka is a gift and the Note is well... Have you ever hated someone so much you wished they would die?" August eyes were visibly red.

"No it makes sense I guess, the vodka I mean." Nieland swished his coffee in his hand absently and looked at the note. "And I can't say I have but I might as well say yes because you never know."

"There! All done!" Minaru looked around her dorm room proudly, now adorned with all her anime-related knick-knacks. On the shelf was her Princess Tutu volume 1, which she'd gotten from Beyond. Oh yeah, I need to call him. But she didn't reach for her phone just yet.

He smiled and placed his index finger facing downward on the note. "This little book." He laughed a little. "Heheh...This little book does just that."
