"Really now?" Nieland walked over to the little book. He didn't lay a finger on it but did look it over as if with a fine microscope taking in every piece of paper from the side, the bent binding, and the small tear on the left corner.
"Isn't that...grand."

"Its an amazing little book... You looked at it as if you had seen somthing similar before." His eyes flashed over to Nieland in less than a second. "Have you..?"

Nieland had lost track of what was going on and was drifting slightly. He came to quickly with a shake of his head and a sip of coffee. "Hmm... I guess so. It didn't SAY Death Note though... it said Mort Pas. I've handled it but it won't open or anything. I don't think much of it."

His head flicked upward. He took a sip of his coffee. "Where did you see this Mort Pas book?"

Nieland cursed within the confines of his mind. How stupid could he be. He couldn't say his imaginary friend who follows him everywhere has it. Gah...well..."I found it on a subway liner in New York on a school trip."

He placed the Death Note on the table. "I do warn you, touch it and you will see a creature more foul than you can imagine." He smirked and grabbed his language dictonairies. "Mort Pas.....French to English says...'Note Dead'"

OOC: WELL THEN MY TRANSLATOR IS DUMB CAUSE IT TOLD ME DEATH NOTE-wait.... maybe I forgot the -e.... OTL...................]]]]]]

"Hmm...curiosity might have killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back." Nieland said looking at the note.

August smiled. "You seem intelligent." He smirked and turned. "Go on and touch the Note, then look behind me." Judas floated behind August and faced Nieland's direction.

"Intelligence is weighed by others more than ones self so I suppose I'll take your word for it." He reached out touching the note and saw Judas. Nieland had no real reaction though rather than something like a recollection or an epiphany. "Well then.... how interesting." He simply stated walking towards the beast.
Girl floated off to the left looking at Judas curiously. "Hey! Hey! DO you think they can see me?"
Nieland didn't answer her figuring that they couldn't see her since no one ever has been able to.

Judas Smirked. (OOC: Can Judas see Girl?) August stepped out of the way

OOC:: .... gah I don't know... she isn't a shinigami so I don't know really what she is. She could be dead so maybe.... ... I'll say yes XD... and is Judas male or female ??]]

Nieland took a step closer just looking Judas over. "How monstrous." He commented grimly but with a smile none the less. "People could write whole gothic books off of you."

"Call me by my last name, Iscariot." Judas gave a creepy smirk at the space behind Nieland. "You have been following him for a very long time now." He smirked at Girl. (OOC: Judas is the same Judas from the bible, so male)

Girl looked around in surprise. "You can see me? OH my gosh! NIELAND! Maybe I was right and you aren't insane!"
Nieland almost dropped his coffee as he fumbled with his hands. "What the? You can see her? You can see that thing?" He said pointing at Girl.
"Hey! I have a name!"
"Can you remember it yet?"
Girl was silence and sighed. "No... I wish I could but no..."
"Fine then you don't have a name still."

Iscariot smiled. "I can see you, Girl."
"So, You have a friend too?" "Yes and she has that Death Note of his."

"Death Note, eh?" Girl said lifting it out from her inside pocket and smiling at it. "Sounds sinister!" Her eyes gleamed.
"Give that to me." Nieland snatched the note and then it came into reality and could be seen properly by August.

His eyes glistened. "May I see that note?"

"What is it you want with it?" Nieland knew his note didn't even do anything but he didn't really trust this August guy with it. Nieland took a mental check and could feel his small notebook in his breast pocket, just in case.

"Iscariot wants to inspect it."

Nieland hands the note straight to Iscariot.
"What is wrong with it?" Nieland puts his hands in his jacket and feels for his pen in his front pockets though he just looks like a normal guy with his hands comfortably in his pockets. ^^

Girl looked snatched it back and looked it over again. "Hmm... I just found it in the snow one day."
"The snow?" Nieland asked in wonder bringing it back. He did the oddest of things and licked the book. "OH geez!" He ran over to the hotel sink and washed his mouth out.
"Taste like old paper?" Girl asked laughing at him.
"No... gah... Well I was right to think what I did. It taste like it took a bath in salt. You know how they salt roads when they get snowed over so wheels can get better traction right? Well this must have been in a snow bank that was from a salted road. Gah.... salt water can do nasty things to books. Makes the pages stick together like cement."

"! GENIUS! That would be why it will not open!" August instantly snapped. "How to reverse it...."

Nieland was still washing his mouth out some and spitting from the salt since it was really concentrated and well road salt is really nasty.
"Gah, reverse it? Girl... any plans?"
"You're asking me...that's new. Well... sugar? Its the opposite so would that do anything?" She fluttered around the room a little in curiosity.
"Just make it sticky on the outside and still cemented. Umm... the best idea I suppose would be to soak it in pure clean water and be insanely gentle about drying it I suppose... actually! No! Scratch that!" Nieland took a large sip of water and spit in the sink again after gargling it. "We'll soak it in clean water and boil the book in that water! Salt has a lower evaporation rate than just water so we'll boil off the salt, and then be left with a clean note and clean water. Then we can take care in drying it. They have racks for books that get wet and damaged at most good libraries. They might let us use it."

August smiled. "You ARE very intelligent. We need to work together."

"Thank you on the intelligence and what is it that you do? I'm not just taking a random offer for something of course..."
Nieland was holding the cemented note and put it away in his jacket so he could soak it when he got back to his dorm. It had a kitchen somewhere, or at least someone with cook wear so he could boil it.
